About ToolNest

ToolNest is a growing collection of free online calculators for health, money and everyday decisions. Every tool here does one job: it takes a handful of numbers you already know and turns them into a clear answer in a couple of seconds. No account, no email address, no download, no five-step wizard before you see a result.

The tools are built and written by us rather than licensed from anywhere else. That means the formulas are visible in plain language, the explanations are our own, and when a calculation has limits we say so on the page instead of pretending it is exact. A BMI figure is a screening number, not a diagnosis. A payroll estimate is not a payslip. You should be able to see where a number comes from and decide how much to trust it.

Privacy comes first by default

Everything you type into a calculator stays in your browser. There is no sign-up and no contact form, so we have no database of personal details to lose. We keep anonymous, aggregated page-view counts — enough to know which tools people actually use — and nothing that identifies you. Our privacy policy explains exactly what that involves, including how advertising cookies work when ads are enabled.

Why the blog exists

A calculator gives you a number; it does not tell you what the number means. The insights section covers the reasoning behind the tools — what the formula assumes, what it ignores, and how to act on the result. It is written as genuinely useful explanation rather than filler around the calculators.
